Dilli haat, pitampura

Introduction

Dilli haat at pitampura exhibit tribal music, cuisine , culture ,craft, art
and spirit of street culture .
Spread over 8 acre of land.

Consisting of craft shops and food courts.


The shoping area and food court area is neatly segregated
Shopping area leads to the food cout and amphitheater

The pitampura haat isnt very popular but it is Mostly


crowded during festivals as lots of cultural events
take place in the amphitheatre provided at back.

There

are No temporary stalls are in the

haat.
All the shops are permanent designed neatly
in rows
permanent shops can be classified as
(a)handlooms and textiles
(b)handicrafts made of clay , stone, glass or
stone.

Most of the shops are currently not in use.


the have been built in linear corridors.
Hence the circulation of the haats shopping are is really simple.

Some shops hung too many cloths
outside their shop. Hence this became a
draw back as it hindered the veiw of the
shop from a distance.

Style of display
Cloths/shoes/cushions etc were hung around the shops on strings n hangers
Hung stuff is usually eye catching
Cloths were hung out side as well as on all three walls inside the shops

mannequins or the were kept in piles on the entrance of
the shops on a platform/table

had displayed their stuff on tables and


in racks or on rotating hangers outside their
shops

No specific storage have been provided within the shops hence


shopkeepers have stored their handlooms in piles n covered them in
plastic sheets.
While some had stored their things in the surrounding areas and under
the tables.

Style of display

Wall hanging were simply hung outside the


shops

So shops had hung the handicrafts over the walls of the shop while
some kept the handicrafts on the floor simply.

Some had placed the handicrafts


simply on tables
Some had properly kept the products
on table neatly while some kept it on
the table in an untidy manner
Tables of different heights were also
used for display

Some shopkeepers have displayed


their products outside their shop on the
pavement some have even displayed it
outside on the sitting benches

Some
have used
racks too

Storage

Due to lack of storage . Shopkepers stored their


handicrafts outside their shops
Some stored it on the floor within the shop or Under
the display table
Some had stored it on the sittings and were covered
with plastic sheets

Other features

Excellently managed shops for the visitors and also for the
shopkeepers provided with signage and corridor system.

Due to very less crowd most of the permanent shops are empty
and no open stalls are present .
Each shop is provided with a built platform for displaying and
their walls have wooden planks for hanging purpose

Simple signages and nos provided to every shop

Lighting

The shopkeepers mainly relied on natural lights in d day bt the had a bulb or two in their
shop
Each shop had a lamp outside it
There are street lamps al over the haat
