2010 Philanthropy Survey


Background

 In early 2010, the Cleveland Professional 20/30


Club’s Philanthropy Committee undertook a
club-wide survey to understand young
professionals’ interest in getting involved in
their community
 The survey was sent to more than one
thousand participants, with an 11% response
rate (above average for online surveys)
 The data is now being used to develop new
programs and initiatives funded by the 20/30

 Interesting internal demographic shifts

 Very clear mandate for program to give young professionals


in Northeast Ohio visibility and a clear pathway to
philanthropic and volunteer opportunities and groups

 Clear interests among membership in certain targeted topic


areas; Education, Renovation, Health,
Culture, And Social Issues

An Interesting Progression In Our Group

 Total responses: 114


 Average age of survey respondents: 29.1
 Previous average age: 27.5
 Gender split: 57% female, 43% male
 Previous split: 55% female, 45% male (this
might be driven by survey-taking preferences
rather than genuine demographics)
