TheLebanese banking industryis financially
sound and stable.
It plays key roles in the Lebanese economy.
It is a major providers of credit to individuals
and businesses.
The Bank of Lebanon (BDL) controls entry
into the banking industry, defines the scope
of banking activities and sets prudential
regulations and codes of practice for banks.

The Main Characteristics Of the Lebanese


Banking Sector
A very large network of correspondent banks.
Well trained, highly qualified and experienced
human resources.
Favorable and sustainable growth and
performance.
High liquidity.
Well capitalized and provisioned banking sector.
Good return and risk measures.
Strong resilience to financial shocks irrespective of
their nature and origins.
Largely integrated in the Lebanese economy.

E-banking in Lebanon
Lebanese banks entered e-banking is in between
2002 and 2005.
E-banking entered Lebanon so poor with
services.
Bank Audi and BLOM are the main banks that
are using e-banking.
Only 10% of the banks costumers are e-bankers.
Lebanese citizens prefer face to face dealings
when it comes to finance.
Examples: 15% of BLF clients use e-banking.

quality that you're used to.
Not all online transactions are
immediate.

E-BLOM
E-BLOM is the electronic banking that is provided by
BLOM bank to its customers.
Started in 2012.
E-BLOM also provides loans admission and
acceptance.
ATM machines provide money transaction in and out
of the costumers account plus ATMs has the ability
to take checks.
Smartphone apps also made the costumer able to
check his account whenever he wants and wherever
he wants and also provides the location of the
nearest ATM.

E-Banking in Lebanon is still in its early stages
Banks in Lebanon should take into
consideration that in the near future e-banking
will make it to the market with sophisticated
costumers and big challenges.
As Mr. Ahmad said when the new generation
come in business sectors no one maybe will go
to the bank anymore.
