MUSIC
Music is an art form whose medium is sound and
silence. Generally, a song is considered the
smallest standalone work of music, especially
when involving singing. The common elements of
music are pitch , rhythm - and its associated
concepts tempo, meter, and articulation ,
dynamics, and the sonic qualities of timbre and
texture. The word derives from greek - mousike;
"art of the muses". In its most general form the
activities describing music as an art form include
the production of works of music, the criticism of
music, the study of the history of music, and the
aesthetic dissemination of music.
MUSICANS VILLAGE:
In todays world it is increasingly becoming
necessary to preserve the heritage of the country
along with the land, water sources, flora and
fauna. The local art and craft community needs to
encourage and they must be educated to make the
talent commercially viable. AKOHAM provides a
unique opportunity for the local art and craft
community to display, sell and teach their art to
the tourists.

OBJECTIVES:
Theobjectivesof the program are to extend
assistance of all round development to small and
marginal farmers, landless laborers, rural artisans
and other economically weaker sections, and slum
dwellers.
To assist the community to develop environmental
awareness and to promote cultural and folk music.
To involve and aid in the implementation of various
welfare schemes of the Government for the benefit
of the rural people.
To work in liaison with appropriate Government
Departments viz., Social Welfare Board, Women &
Child Welfare Department and such other sources
and avail all the facilities extended for the
community in need.
To provide amenities for and to hold discourses on
Indian Philosophy, History, Culture and allied
subjects as to promoteand cherish our heritage,
tradition, culture and way of life.
DESIGN METHODOLOGY:
Detailed analysis of the site.
Studying the requirements of the project.
Literature study for the best understanding of the
subject.
Visiting similar sites for reference and case study.

SCOPE AND LIMITATIONS


To create an environment where people of the
metropolitan can interact with rural and urban
musicians alike, and appreciate and encourage the
rich heritage of India.
This should be able to provide a ground to the
musicians where they can put their opinions and
problems and get their voices be heard by the
metropolitan media and people.
This way can spread sensitivity towards rural
environment and society, and help improve the
conditions of their village.
Socially, it would reflect the state of civilization;
thus in todays fast changing world, it becomes
imperative to sustain and preserve culture.
Culturally, it would provide them a platform full of
economic possibilities and opportunities, they can
reach out to the population of the metropolitan and
help bridging the socio-cultural gap that has begun
to creep in the Indian metropolitan life and the
rural India.

ABOUT DWARKA:
Dwarkais an fast-growing neighborhood of
New Delhi(district ofSouth West Delhi) in
India , it is one of the most sought-after
residential areas in the city.
It is one of Asia's largest residential
neighborhoods and is also referred to as a
Sub-City.
It is a well planned neighborhood with robust
infrastructure and several urban amenities. The
neighborhood offers many parks as well as
recreational and cultural attractions for its

NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF
FASHION DESIGN

INTRODUCTION:
National institute of fashion technology (nift) is a
fashion institute in india. It was set up in 1986 under
the aegis of the ministry of textiles, government of
india and is an institution of design, management and
technology for the international fashion business.
With its head office in new delhi, nift has centers at
mumbai, kolkata, kangra, gandhinagar, hyderabad,
chennai, bangalore, raebareli, patna, shillong, bhopal,
kannur, bhubaneswar and jodhpur where it offers
four-year bachelor and two-year master programmes
in the areas of design, management and technology.
A new nift campus at ludhiana, punjab has been
announced by minister of textiles. A new center in
ompora industrial area, kashmir, too, is expected to
come up.
AIMS AND OBJECTIVES:
To study, identify and understand the inter
relationship of various activities.
To be able to device solutions of certain ever
prevailing issues/problems associated with such
spaces via methods of justified building planning.
To establish a landmark to the surroundings.

Creating an aesthetic eco-friendly design for the

ABOUT THE SELECTED SITE:
Accompanied by Panchkula deputy commissioner
and officials from technical education department,
Haryana, NIFT director visited the 10 acre site
earmarked for the institute in panckula's
institutional zone in sector 23.
Huda (haryana urban development authority) has
earmarked the site for the professional college.
Soon after nift director approved the site, the
huda's estate office forwarded the proposal for the
allotment of site to technical education department
for nift panchkula centre, a rs 100 crore project
which has been approved by union ministry for
commerce, industry and textile.
Union minister for commerce, industry and
textiles announced the setting up of the national
institute of fashion technology (nift) in panchkula.
With the nift (naitional institute of fashion and
technology ) director approving the site, decks are
all cleared to have 16th centre of the prestigious
institute in Panchkula city of haryana.

PANCHKULA :
Panchkula is a planned city in Panchkula district,
Haryana, India. It forms a part of a continuous area
with the Union Territory of Chandigarh and the city
of Mohali.
It is approximately 4km from the Chandigarh.
The Chandigarh-Mohali-Panchkula metropolitan
region collectively forms a Tri-city, with a combined
population of over 2 million.
The city hosts the Chandimandir Cantonment, the
headquarters of the Western Command of the
Indian Army. In 2011, Panchkula had population of
561,293.
