Learning Environment

Theres

are a large number of


instructional and related activities to be
performed by the teacher inside and
outside of the classroom. The effective
organization of these activities would
require that a teacher possesses a
certain amount of knowledge and also
certain attitudes and skills this is known
as teaching competence.

Common Teaching Competencies

I: Subject Matter Knowledge


A competent teacher has a full knowledge of
the subject matter she teaches and she must
be familiar to the curriculum content.

II: Communication Skills


She is articulated and can communicate well
to his/her students.

III: Dependability The teacher who


works minimal supervision and complete assigned
task within the specified period is truly on asset to
any system. She give full support to every activity
and do her best in everything.

IV: Initiative The competent teacher


shows willingness to assume additional task even
volunteers do other task apart from being her teacher
assignment.

V: Judgement The competent


teacher make sound and mature decisions. She
applies analytically and reflective approach in
every problems.

VI: Adaptability She can adapt


and adjust to existing situation. She is open to the
feedback and new ideas and willingness to support
changes when necessary.

VII: Professionalism She


can a warm supportive nature and can
harmoniously work with others. She has the
ability to adjust to different personalities. She
also respect other cultures and religions.

Learning

environment

refers

to a diverse physical
locations, contexts, and cultures in
which student learn.

Having a proper environment is essential


in a students ability to learn. Heres
some tips to have effective environment:
1. Develop and post classroom rules
and regulations and procedures. For
example, as a student to help you come
up with a short list of classroom rules and
post it where everyone can see.
Procedures should include clear
instruction on how to carry out in
everyday tasks.

Create a seating chart. Sticking to


the seating plan is the best way to
remember their names. When you ask
something you can use your plan to
address the responding student
personally.

Assign student classroom jobs.


By assigning jobs, you allow the
students to feel needed and important
and you can get a helping hand in
keeping your classroom running
smoothly.

Motivate students by rewards.


Offering students small rewards for
participation and good behavior keep up
the good work and keeping your
classroom running smoothly.

Use non-verbal cues to keep


students on task and minimize
discipline issues. Like raising your
hand to indicate to student that they
need to focus and stop talking.

Account for a full range of


learning styles and needs. Like having
more motivation to capture the attention
of your student. Having a teaching style
is very important because teachers will
be known on how they teach their
students.

Treat your students with respect


and let them know you care. Build
respect by acting in a professional
manner, administering classroom rules
and fair treatment to your students.
Teacher should be approachable.
