ELECTROMAGNETIC
CRANE

INTRODUCTION
The electromagnet is essentially a metal

'core' surrounded by wire that's connected to

the mains supply.
If you apply power to a coil of wire wrapped
around a metal core, it magnetizes it.
When the crane driver wants to pick up a load
of metal, he switches on the power - which
creates a magnetic field.

This lets him pick up a load. When he's moved

the load to where he wants to drop it, he

switches off the power, and the metal pieces
fall to the ground.
switches off the power, and the metal pieces
fall to the ground.
An electromagnetic crane is a crane that has
a giant magnet to pick up things with cobalt,
nickel or iron in them.

PRINCIPLE
The principle on which an electromagnetic

crane works is electromagnetic induction.

A simple electromagnet consisting of a coil of
insulated wire wrapped around an iron core.
The strength of magnetic field generated is
proportional to the amount of current.

USES OF ELECTROMAGNETIC CRANE

Actually there are many uses of an

electromagnetic crane.
It helps in lifting quite heavy objects.
It starts it properties of attraction and
repulsion on our command.
It is usually used in garbage dumps as helps
in lifting garbages.
It helps in separating the steed and iron
materials from the garbage.

How Does an Electromagnetic Crane

Work?
The way that it works is the electromagnet

contains an iron core with wire around in

which current travels.
The size of the core, the amount of current,
and the number of turns of wire affect the
strength of the electromagnet.
For an electromagnet to be turned on and off,
a soft iron core needs to be used.
Turning the electricity on will cause the
magnet to work and turning off the electricity
will shut it off.

SPECIFICATION
User may pause operation and move blocks.
All blocks are relocated after every grab

operation.
Closest-to-bucket order of pickup.
Save fuel uses.
Optimize in design rather than other crane.

FUNCTIONALITY
The Electromagnetic Crane locates, acquires,

and removes steel blocks from a target area

to a designated container in an uninterrupted
sequence.
