 Bin Y. Sulaiman – Chief Executive Officer/Co-Founder


 Mr. Sulaiman’s investment banking career started in 1981 with Merrill Lynch, and
later moved to Smith Barney and then Prudential Securities. In a career that has
spanned more than 25 years, he sold to and provided investment advice to both
private clients and global institutional clients including central banks, commercial
banks, insurance companies, etc. in India, east and west Africa, parts of the
Middle East, the Caribbean, and the U.S. domestic market.

 Ahri Hashim – Chief Financial Officer/Co-Founder


 Mr. Hashim started his career as Equity Analyst in Baring Securities in 1989, and
later moved to K & N Kenanga and Dresdner Bank. He has more than 17 years
experience in investment banking, private equity, M & A and capital markets.

 Musa Abdul-Basser – Chief Legal Affairs & Shari`a Compliance Officer


 Mr. Abdul-Basser has spent over a decade as a legal practitioner specializing in
securitization of fixed-income investments, structured finance, corporate
restructuring and merger and acquisition for top New York law firms.

 B.H. Sulaiman – Chief Operations Officer


 Mr. B.H. Sulaiman began his consulting career with Autonomy Inc, a boutique
strategy and marketing consulting firm focused on corporate direction &
expansion planning where he assisted in the growth of startup companies. He
later started Bima Inc., a real estate development group in the New York City
metropolitan area, where he sourced, managed and executed investment
opportunities as a principal developer.
 Edwin Ruh – Private Equity/Structured Finance Consultant
 Mr. Ruh has held positions as Managing Director of a private investment bank, and
General Partner to a $200 million Asia focused direct-investment equity fund, and
Senior Vice President in the International Structured Finance Division of The Fuji
Bank, Limited. He has nearly two decades of project experience, during which time
he initiated, closed, and syndicated over 100 transactions.
 Aisha Abdul-Ali – Resources/Commodities Trading Consultant
 Ms. Abdul-Ali founded Southern Energy USA in 1992, as a broker of crude oil and
other distillates for buyers and sellers in Africa, Europe, USA and South America. In
that capacity she acted as lead consultant in the development of the former
Southland Petroleum Co. of Port Harcourt, Nigeria, one of a few American
companies providing renewable energy solutions for agriculture production.

 Bennett J. Johnson III – Strategic and Asset Management Consultant


 Mr. Johnson began his finance and consulting career over 15 years ago at the asset
management firm of Abacus Financial analyzing various investments of their $500
million fixed income portfolio. As managing director for A.C. Advisory, Inc. of
Chicago, he was charged with the execution, documentation, pricing and closing for
over $34 billion of municipal bond issues and provided strategic and risk
management consulting for municipal & corporate clients. He was responsible for
researching and advising on innovative financing strategies to enable clients to reach
their fiscal and corporate goals. Using his technology expertise, Mr. Johnson served
as the City of Chicago’s Assistant Comptroller managing the Oracle ERP application
implementation for the Human Resources, Payroll, Accounts Receivables, Payables,
Purchasing and General Ledger systems.
Recently, Mr. Johnson served as the City of Chicago’s Budget Director. Where he was
responsible for preparing and executing the City’s $6 billion annual operating and $2
billion annual capital budgets for over 40 departments with more than 35,000
employees. Mr. Johnson was also charged with overseeing the City’s performance
management initiative allowing the evaluation the efficiency and efficacy of all City
operations and driving management reforms that improve the City’s fiscal condition
and increase taxpayer value.

Expert Guidance

 Taha Abdul-Basser – Shari`a Advisor and Shari`a Board Convener


 An independent advisor responsible for guidance on all Shari`a related matters
including general operations, product structuring and convening the Shari`a board,
etc. Born and raised in New York City, Ustadh Taha bin Hasan Abdul-Basser is a
consultant, researcher and translator in the field of Islamic ethics and law. As lead
researcher and contributor to the “Shari`a Database,” the Harvard Islamic Finance
Information Program’s electronic database on Islamic financial ethics and
jurisprudence, Taha translated and annotated more than 100 ethical-legal responsa
(fatawa) on finance. He is Chaplain of the Harvard Islamic Society; former Senior
Tutorial instructor at Harvard University; former Lecturer in Arabic at Boston
University and has served as a Shari`a consultant for Fajr Capital, al-Umran Global
Property Fund, The Datestone Group (TDG), Javelin ETF (Dow Jones Islamic
International Index Fund) and other financial, commercial and non-profit entities.

Expert Guidance

 Shaykh Nizam Yacuby - Shari`a Advisor


 Shaykh Nizam M Yaquby studied traditional Islamic studies under the guidance of
some of the most eminent Islamic scholars in the world. He has a BA in economics
and comparative religions and a M.SC. in finance from McGill University-Canada.
He has served in Bahrain Masjid from 1981 to 1990 and has taught Tafsir, Hadith in
Fiqh in Bahrain since 1976. He is a member of the Islamic supervisory boards for
several Islamic and conventional institutions, including the Arab Islamic Bank and
the Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, HSBC Amanah, and Citibank.

 Dr. Aznan Hasan - Shari`a Advisor


 Dr. Aznan Hasan is an Assistant Professor in Islamic law and the former head of
Islamic Law Department, Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Laws, International Islamic
University Malaysia. He taught subjects such as Islamic Legal Theory, Islamic
Commercial Law and Islamic Banking and Finance at both undergraduate and
postgraduate levels. He has served as a Shariah advisor to various financial
Institutions and corporate bodies. Currently he served as a member of Shariah
Advisory Council of Bank Negara Malaysia, the Supreme Shariah Board that
oversees the practice and implementation of Islamic principles in Malaysian Islamic
banking and finance.
