ANALYSIS
Added three new inputs in PV Elite on the Seismic Data tab that allow for additional factors to
be considered during seismic analysis. The new inputs, Consider the Rotational Force Effect,
Site Velocity, and Specification Factor allow for rotational forces to be calculated when
performing seismic analysis according to the Mexico Sismo (2008) seismic design code.
Updated PV Elite to allow you to calculate the effective wind diameter using only a few inputs.
The new Special Effective Wind Diameter dialog contains inputs that allow you to easily
calculate the wind diameter for a vertical column, making it quicker to determine the foundation
loads necessary for the structure.
Updated PV Elite by adding an additional hydro-test option for ASME Division 1. A new App.
27-4 option was added to Hydro test Type on the Design Constraints tab. This new option
allows you to test that glass-lined vessels meet the requirements of Appendix 27-4 of ASME
Division 1.
Fixed an issue in PV Elite in which the software did not recognize certain materials as being
in the creep range. The material database was updated to contain accurate creep range

ANALYSIS
When you selected one of the Brn. & Young options in Basering Design Option, you were able
to select any option in Method for Thinness Calc, though the software only analyzed the vessel
according to the Neutral Axis Shifted method. The software now only uses the Neutral Axis
Shifted method for Brn. & Young basering design options.
When you entered a temperature for a metric material that resulted in the value of the
operating allowable stress nearing the high-end of its range, the temperature violation
message displayed. However, when you entered a temperature that resulted in the allowable
stress value narrowly exceeding its range, the temperature violation message did not display,
but the software reset the allowable stress value to zero. The temperature violation message
now only displays when the material temperature exceeds its allowable range.
Created a new input in PV Elite to allow you to enter the thickness of the weld between a flat
head and the attaching element. Maximum Weld Thickness (Head or Junction) was added to
the Additional Element Data section of the Welded Flat element. The software uses the value

entered in the field to determine if the weld requires post weld
heat
(PWHT).

ANALYSIS
Fixed an issue in PV Elite in which the piping attachment angle diagram on the Drain Piping Input
dialog did not accurately reflect how the software functioned. Previously, the diagram on the Drain
Piping Input dialog displayed 0 along the longitudinal axis, and 90 clockwise from that. However,
the implementation in the program differed. The issue was resolved and the piping attachment
angle diagram now reflects the implementation in the program with the default angular direction
and orientation.

ANALYSIS
When analyzing a vessel with legs welded to a jacket, the software used the diameter of the
shell when performing WRC 107 leg calculations. The software now uses the diameter of the
jacket when performing the WRC 107 leg calculations.
When the software displayed a code violation warning when the diameter ratio exceeded 1.5 for
nozzles on vessels designed according to the ASME Division 2 code, even though this did not
violate the code. The software has been updated by adjusting the parameters that result in the
display of the warning message.
Updated certain weld neck flange calculations in PV Elite, such as those for static pressure and
weld thickness, to allow the software to analyze weld neck flanges as sump items. When adding
a body flange, you can select the Sump Head check box to designate the flange to be the sump
of a selected nozzle.
Updated the Saddle Dialog box in PV Elite to include an option to enter the distance from
tangent to tangent. The new Tangent to Tangent Distance field

calculate the effective distance (L) by entering the tangent to tangent distance from the first head
to the last head.

ANALYSIS
Updated PV Elite to display a nozzle that is offset from the centerline and a lateral at the same time.
Previously, the software did not allow a negative value in Centerline Tilt Angle. The software now allows you
to enter a negative value in Centerline Tilt Angle to allow you to point angled nozzles in more directions.
Fixed an issue in PV Elite in which the software incorrectly calculated the structural height of certain
vessels for IBC 2012 earthquake calculations. Previously, when a vessel had multiple cylinders, with a sump
head in the first cylinder, the software calculated the structural height only up to the sump head. The
software has been updated and the software now calculates the structural height as the entire length of the
vessel.
Fixed an issue in CodeCalc in which the software defined the value of as and ac as zero for floating
tubesheet calculations in the ASME Tubesheet module. According to ASME UXH 14.3, the value for ac is
defined as the radial channel dimension, which for configuration B is equal to Gc/2, where Gc is the diameter
of the channel gasket load reaction and the value of as is equal to ac. When you select (FL,B) Floating,
gasketed, extended as flange as the tubesheet type, the dimension for Gc should not be equal to zero.
Fixed an issue in PV Elite regarding the hoop stress value in certain calculations for the EN-13445, PD
5500, and ASME Section VIII, Division 2 codes. Previously, the software did not consider the hoop stress
due to hydrotest pressure for calculations in the aforementioned codes. The software now considers the
hoop stress and calculates a non-zero stress value.

OUTPUT
Fixed an issue in PV Elite in which a certain print option did not work in the PV Elite Output
Processor. Previously, when you clicked Print and then selected PV Elite PDF Printer, the
software displayed an error message. The Print icon was removed from the File panel of the
Output Processor. You can now press CTRL + P to display the Preview/Print tab.
Fixed an issue in CdeCalc in which the output report displayed incorrect input data
Added a clarifying message to the ASME TS Calc report regarding minimum length calculations
for simply supported UHX fixed tube sheets.
Fixed an issue in CodeCalc in which the output report displayed incorrect input data for Partition.
Gasket Column for Gasket Seating.
Added a warning message concerning MDMT calculations in PV Elite. Previously, PV Elite
calculated the MDMT for carbon steel materials thicker than four inches even when impact testing
and PWHT were not performed. The software now displays a warning message that impact
testing and PWHT must be done before MDMT calculations are performed. The warning
message displays on the Internal Pressure Calculations report and the MDMT Summary report.
Fixed an issue in PV Elite regarding the Rnc value in perpendicular nozzle calculations in formed

OUTPUT
Updated PV Elite to include the saddle weight in the total operating weight for certain
saddle analysis calculations. When friction force calculations are performed during the
saddle analysis, PV Elite now includes the saddle weight in the total operating weight.
Fixed an issue in CodeCalc in which the Analysis tab on the Floating Head module did
not display a failure. Previously, when a required thickness value was not met in the
Floating Head module, the value did not display in red in the Analysis tab as a sign of
failure; however, when the file was analyzed, the failure displayed on the analysis
report. The software has been updated and now the failure immediately displays in red
on the Analysis tab.
Updated PV Elite by adding an option to separate the foundation load information.
Previously, the software only displayed base ring and foundation load information on the
Vessel Design Summary report. You can now select Foundation Loads on a New Page
on the Configuration dialog which will result in the base ring and foundation load
information displaying on the new Foundation Support Summary report. A new base
ring Cross Section View sketch also displays on both the
