Alexander Fleming

(1881-1955)

Biography
He was a farmer's son from Ayrshire
in Scotland
He moved to London at 13 and later
trained as a doctor
In 1928 Fleming was research
assistant

Work

He was working with bacterias


He accidentaly discovered a mould
The mould was penicillin
Fleming has discovered the first
antibiotic
he got the Nobel Prize in Physiology
or Medicine in 1945

The present
His discovery of penicillin had
changed the world
Penicillin has saved, and is still
saving, millions of peoples lifes
around the world
But Penicillin could be produced as a
drug
