Group discussions are used to assess candidates' interactive and communication skills. Candidates are typically placed in groups of 8-10 people without a leader and given a case study or topic to analyze within a set time limit. Evaluators look at how candidates behave, participate, contribute to the group objective, listen to others, and accept alternative views. Successful candidates demonstrate leadership, communication, interpersonal, persuasive, problem-solving, and conceptual skills like initiating discussion, actively participating, introducing new ideas, listening well, keeping arguments on track, using eye contact and gestures, summarizing discussion points, and providing a conclusion.
