Variable
A variable is a symbol to which numerals or values are
assigned. Variables are the characteristics of persons,
things, events , groups, objects, ideas, feelings, or any
other types of category you are trying to measure.
For example, age is a variable.Gender is a variable.
Likewise other examples of variable are productivity, job
satisfaction, absenteeism, length of service, employee
attitude, performance and so on.

Types of variables

There are four types of variables:

1. The dependent variable


2. The independent variable
3. The moderating variable
(training productivity) Age
4. The intervening variable.
( Challenging job job performance) motivation
