MOVEMENT EXERCISES:
LATERAL LUNGE &
FORWARD LUNGE

APPLICATION
The kinematics of a baseball pitch demands a large Range of
cocking phase. As you sweep your arm up and out ,to cock your
arm into position, your scapula must elevate and upwardly
rotate. These are the same movements used in this exercise.
The Forward lunge targets muscles and patterns used in the
MUSCLES INVOLVED

FORWARD LUNGE
Begin by standing with your hands on your chest.
First, stride forward with the right leg and reach
forward with the left hand, keeping the left elbow
at shoulder level. Next, stride back with the right
leg so it lands well behind the left leg and move
the left arm back so the elbow finishes behind the
left shoulder at shoulder level. Repeat these
movements for the prescribed number of
repetitions, and then repeat the movements for
the left arm, stepping with the right leg. Keep
your head and neck in good postural alignment.
