There are typically two

clothing.Japanese culture
has been greatly impacted
by the rest of the world
throughout history. One of
the most noticeable
changes has been Japanese
clothing.Traditional clothing
and Modern day clothing.

The traditional cuisine


of Japan is based on
rice with miso soup
and other dishes, with
an emphasis on
seasonal ingredients.
Side dishes often
consist of fish, pickled
vegetables, and
vegetables cooked in
broth. Fish is common,
often grilled, but also
served raw as sashimi
or in sushi.

Japans Mt. Fuji is an active volcano


about 100 kilometers southwest of
Tokyo. Commonly called Fuji-san,
its the countrys tallest peak, at
3,776 meters. A pilgrimage site for
centuries, its considered one of
Japans 3 sacred mountains, and
summit hikes remain a popular
activity. Its iconic profile is the
subject of numerous works of art,
notably Edo Period prints by
Hokusai and Hiroshige.

Zamami is a village
located in Shimajiri
District, Okinawa
Prefecture, Japan. The
village consists of
more than 20 islands
approximately 40
kilometres west of the
prefectural capital of
Naha.

Sumo or sumo wrestling is


a competitive full-contact
wrestling sport where a
rikishi (wrestler) attempts
to force another wrestler
out of a circular ring
(dohy) or into touching
the ground with anything
other than the soles of his
feet. The characters,
literally mean "striking
one another".
