Float or Sink?

T. Fauzia 8/16

It was a cold day and after morning tea children were engaged in different activities
set up for them. I saw Musa when he finished an art activity you came the table
that was set up for Science experiment. In this experiment, we tested, which items
would float or sink. I prepared a plastic container of water and had different objects,
such as a rubber animal, plastic egg, rock and so on. We began the experiment by
predicting what objects would float or sink. I asked the children, "what do you think
will happen to the rock?". The children replied that the rock would sink. When I
asked "why", Musa was the first to respond by saying "I know, it's because it is
heavy". After, you put the plastic egg in the water and said "this will float", I asked
why and Musa responded because it is light. Masha Allah, I was very impressed with
your answers, Musa.
Next time we can carry out more scientific experiments that encourage you to
develop your own working theory.
