Sampling requirements of aggregates

Contractor shell take samples prior to purchase.


1 sample should be taken from 200 m3
1 sample should be taken every month

Stockpile requirements of aggregates

All aggregates should be stockpiled separately


The surface of the stockpiles should be sloped,hard and free from foreign
materials.
A minimum of 500 m3 stockpile for each type of aggregate should be
made.

Washing requirements of aggregates & Natural sand

sand shall be washed prior to batching with water that contains no more
than 3500 parts per million (ppm) of total dissolved solids (TDS).
Coarse aggregates can be cleaned from dust. Total dissolved solids in the
washing water shall not exceed 3500 ppm and chlorides shall not exceed
1000 ppm.

Soundness test requirements

Only magnesium sulfate shall be used for the soundness test.
