Communalism is one of the major problems disturbing the

peace of the country from time to time. India is a secular

state. Our constitution has given freedom to people to follow
any religion. So there are several communities which owe
allegiance to different places of worship. They speak different
languages, wear different dresses, eat different kinds of food
and follow different ways of living. In spite of this apparent
diversities we have a bond of unity which makes all of us live
together as one nation.

But sometimes some anti social and antinational

elements want to create mischief and disturb this

unity.
They incite the feelings of people either through

rumours or exaggerating certain incidents .

Often small incidents lead to big riots which

results in large scale violence.

EVILS OF DOWRY SYSTEM

The dowry system is one of the evils prevalent in India.
This is a system has been prevalent in India since long.
In the past kings and rich men gave gifts at the time of
the marriage of their daughters. These gifts consisted of
clothes ,ornaments, utensils.
In certain cases the parents of the bride also gave a
substantial amount of money as a gift.
