Manufacturing

1. Merge Two Plants Hopewell, VA plant and Evans, GA plant .


Reduce costs as both are manufacturing resistors.
Removing the staff functions from each departments.
Report directly to Don Rogers.

2. Profit center plant.


Plant growth and gross margins are beyond control of plant managers
Treat the plants as cost centers rather than profit centers
Improvement in services, delivery and quality of products.

Sales
1. Profitability
Sales target should be based on profitability rather than sales volume.
Commission based compensation.
New products with more profitability.

2. Communication.
Increase in communication with plants
Confirm with plants regarding delivery, services before committing to
clients.

Marketing and Product development


1. Merge two departments

New development is the responsibility of both marketing and product


development
Too much conflict, resolved by merging them.
Common goal hence resolves conflicts.
Merged departments will have both technical and sales people.
( Marketing people -> Sales experience, Product development ->
Technical skills)

2. Two divisions ( 1 for resistors and 1 for Capacitors)

Improve the relationship and communication with the manufacturing


function.
Accelerated new product development (More technical skills).
