There are three sections to this course: @ AU5800 Hardware Component Overview @ISE Unit Overview @ Software Overview At the end of this course you will be able to: @ Identify the major hardware components of the AUS5800 and know what they do. ® Identify the components of the ISE unit and understand how it operates. ® Identify the elements of the Home Screen of the AU5800 Software and understand how to navigate through it. —s Follow this link to download er | AU5800 product documentation: {a https://techdocs.beckmancoulter.com AU5800 Model Numbers Model Number: AU58XY AU58 = 5800 Series X = Number of Analyzer Units Y = Number of ISE Flowcells 1 analyzer unit +2 ISE flowcells = AU5812 Rack Feeder Unit ISE Unit Analyzer Unit Licht tla I eS ‘Touchscreen Monitor Keyboard Wash Solution Mouse Tank 1, Rack Set Unit Rack set trays are placed here. This is where routine samples are loaded (on the analyzer. 2 & 3. Set Trays Set trays are used to load many sample racks at once on the analyzer. Each rack holds ten samples, and each rack set tray holds twenty racks. This gives a capacity of 400 samples when both sot trays are filed. 4. Rack Buffer Unit This area temporarily holds up to 23 sample racks before transferring them fo the Rack Transfer Unit, Racks may be held here before either the intial analysis or repeat analysis. 5. Priority Rack Set Unit This area allows the loading of one or two Priority racks. Racks loaded here will be procassed ahead of racks loaded in the Rack Set Area. 6. Vertical Rack Transfer Unit This device moves racks between th Rack Set Unit (1), Rack Butfer (4), and Rack Collection Unit (8). 7. Rack Transfer Unit ‘This unit has three lanes that are used fo move racks fo the chemistry analysis modules. Lane "a" is the primary lane and handles routine racks; Lane "b"is the bypass lane, ‘and Lane "e"is the return lane. 8. Rack Collection Unit This area holds two rack collection trays. Sample racks are retumed here when testing is complete. 9 & 10. Collection Trays Each collection tray holds up to 20 sample racks. Racks that are ready {or removal will collect here. Sample Probes S1 and S2 In conjunetion with the sample syringes, these two probes aspirate sample from the sample container and dispense the sample into a cuvette. 1 dalivers sample to the inner cuvette wheel and S2 delivers sample to the outer cuvette wheel 2. Cuvette Wheels The inner and outer wheels hold a total of 408 glass cuvettes. Reactions occur and absorbance readings are taken here. 3&4. Reagent Refrigerators These reftigerated compartments hold the R1 (#3) and R2 (#4) reagents. There are 54 positions in each refrigerator. 5. R1 Reagent Probes In conjunction with a reagent syringe, these probes aspirate R1 reagents from the R1 reagent refrigerator and dispense them into cuvettes. R1-1 delivers to the inner cuvette wheel, and R1-2 delivers to the outer cuvette wheel 6. R2 Reagent Probes In conjunction with a reagent syringe, these probes aspirate R2 reagents from the R2 reagent refrigerator and dispense them into cuvettes. R2-1 delivers to the inner cuvette wheel, and R2-2 delivers to the outer cuvette, wheel 7. R1/S Mix U Mix bars on this unit mix the contents of the cuvelte after the addition of reagent R1 and again after the addition of sample. The mix bars on this unit are spiral shaped. 8. R2 Mix Unit Mix bars on this unit mix the contents of the cuvette after the addition of reagent R2. The mix bars on this unit are L-shaped. 9. Wash Nozzle Unit This mechanism washes, rinses, and cries the cuvettes before and after sample analysis, 1. R1 Syringes The R1 syringes work with the R1 reagent probes to aspirate reagent and deliver it to the cuvettes in the cuvette wheel. R1-1 delivers reagent to the inner wheel; R1-2 delivers reagent to the outer wheel. 2. R2 Reagent Syringes The R2 syringes work with the R2 reagent probes to aspirate reagent and deliver it to the cuvettes in the cuvette wheel. R2-1 delivers reagent to the inner wheel; R2-2 delivers reagent to the outer wheel. 3. Sample Syringes (not shown) The sample syringes are located on the opposite side of the Analyzer Unit. Working with the sample probes, these syringes aspirate sample from sample containers and deliver it to cuvettes in the cuvette wheel. 4. Analyzer Tank Storage The tanks showh here hold deionized water, wash solution concentrate, and cilute wash solution used throughout the system to wash cuvettes and mix bars.
