3.1 APPLY UNDERSTANDING OF SOCIAL.


ECONOMIC, AND ENVIRONMENTAL
JUSTICE TO ADVOCATE HUMAN RIGHTS AT
THE INDIVIDUAL AND SYSTEMS LEVELS.
During my internship I have observed that students that have major

behavioral, personal, or home issues, must be addressed by the


social worker, school councilor, and nurse. Teachers must first fill out
a referral form. Then the social worker/school councilor/nurse work
together to find a solution with the parents (Guardian), student, and
teacher. This is a form of advocating for students, as it allows the
school team to help the student that was struggling, while trying to
understand the perspectives of all parties involved.

3.2 ENGAGE IN PRACTICES THAT


ADVANCE SOCIAL, ECONOMIC, AND
ENVIRONMENTAL JUSTICE.
I have accomplished this practice through assisting Ms. Locklear
(Supervisor) with the McKinney-Vento recipients. These individuals were
considered homeless and their children required clothes for the school
year. We went to Walmart and assisted them in getting their required
clothes for the school year.

Additionally, the school receives snack bags for children that need food
on the weekends. I help these students by sorting the appropriate ones
to the right classrooms. This assures that these particular students will
have food to take home every Friday.
