Damar-A Lifting Study using QP 2000

TLO has proposed QP 2000 to lifts the Damar-A jacket and performed their
preliminary lifting studies.
The below parameters have been considered in their lifting studies:
o Damar-A Jacket NTE weight = 1650 MT (including weight
contingencies, rigging weights, etc.)
o DAF
= 15% (1.15)
o Max. Dynamic Hook Load = 1650 MT x 1.15
= 1898 MT
o QP2000 Main Lift Capacity
@ 32m radius (w/tieback) = 2000 MT
o Lifting Capacity
= 95%

FINDINGS & SUMMARY

At 95% lifting capacity, there is not much room for error.
At the 32-meter radius portrayed, the curve starts diminishing after this point,
so capacity will diminish if something is inaccurate.
Even though DAF can be changed, it will only limit weather criteria and
installation window which could cause significant stand-by time.
Based on TLOs performance in 2012, likely to incur operational delays,
which will put Damar installation at risk and will push Damar structural
installation nearing monsoon, which could cause significant stand-by time.
It is possible to lift Damar-A jacket using QP2000 but it is too restrictive as a
base case vessel for this lift.
A proper planning and execution to be in placed between Damar-A jacket
installation and Damar-A topside installation (which will be lifted by other
vessel) to ensure both operations are align and to avoid a significant stand-by
time.
