1) OBJECTIVE
To Discuss about the fundamental and sources
of shariah Islam
To explain about halal and haram
To determine what is prohibited and permitted
on premises and ourselves.
To improve employees knowledge on the
importance of halal.

5.1) Najs (impurity)

Najs mukhaffah ( Najis ringan)

Does not fall under severe or light najs such as
vomit, pus, blood, alcoholic drinks (Khamar),
carrion, liquid and objects discharged from the
orifices etc.

Mughallazah (Najis Berat)


Include dogs, pigs and any liquid and objects
discharged from their orifices and their derivatives.

5.2) Sertu
Sertu :

The cleansing of any parts that have been


contaminated with najs Al-Mughallazah (Najis
berat) with one time water mixed with soil and six
times with mutlaq water.

6) ISLAMIC CLEANSING FOR NAJS


MUGHALLAZAH (Najis berat)
Cleansing method : wash the spot that has been
ascertained to be in contact with the dog or pig (seven)
7 times cleaning using pure water, one of which shall be
of water mixed with soil.

MUTAWASSITAH (Najis pertengahan)


Cleansing method : remove the najs and wash it with
pure water till there is no sign of its odour and colour.

MUKHAFFAFAH (Najis ringan)


Cleansing method : wipe the urine till dry and splash with
clean water on it a couple of times.

The purification process using soil :
1) The first step is to clean all najs.
2) Prepare the adequate amount of water and mix it
with soil

3) For the first wash, clean place which is contaminated


with najs mughallazah using the water mix with soil

4) Then, clean the place with mutlaq(clean) water and


repeat the same process (six times)

5) The using of soap and other halal detergent is allowed for the
second and third time of washing, if needed.

7.1) Factory
Factory shall be fenced or having a control mechanism to prevent
pets or wild animals from entering in the factory area.
Non-halal food/beverages are not allowed to be brought into the
factory.
Liquor and materials sourced from liquor is strictly prohibited to
be in the factory compound.

Product process flow from receipt of raw materials to the finished
products shall prevent cross contamination.
Adequate sanitary facilitate shall be provided and maintained.
Tools and elements of worship are not allowed in the processing
area, starting from the reception area for raw materials until the
finished products, storage area and serving place.

Workers are not allowed to live in the factory


compound.
Workers shall wear proper and suitable attire

7.4) PROCESSING, HANDLING AND STORAGE

Product cant contain animal parts or products non-halal according


to shariah

Product shall be free from najs

Product or its component shall be safe and non-hazardous to


health

6.4) PROCESSING, HANDLING AND STORAGE

Product shall be prepared, process and manufactured using


equipment and facilities free from najs contamination

During preparation, process, packaging and storage, shall be


separated from any other materials that do not meet the
requirement as specified at above and/or decreed as najs by
Shariah law.

Packing process shall be carried out in a clean and
hygienic manner and in sound sanitary conditions.
Design of packaging, marks, symbols, logos, names and
images that are misleading and/or contravening the
principles of shariah law shall not be permitted.

9) SLAUGHTERING

The slaughterer must be a perform manually by Muslim of sound mind, and


fully understand the fundamental conditions related to slaughtering.

Slaughtering must be done with intention (niyyah) in the name of Allah and
not for other purposes.

Slaughter shall sever the trachea (halqum), aesophagus (mari) and both
carotid arteries and jugular veins.

The animal must be slaughtered by the use of a sharp knife.

Bones, nails and teeth shall not be used as slaughtering tools.

Animal to be slaughtered has to be an animal that is halal and still alive.

Slaughtering shall be done only once.

All types of mushroom halal except impurity,

sources.
