What are the benefits to

Positive Behavior Plans?

Students who always do the right thing are

recognized as role models

Students are taught the appropriate
behavior because there are clear schoolwide expectations with incentives and
consequences
There is a clear recognition system for
students who follow the rules and maintain
a positive attitude

The 3 Major
Components
of Positive Discipline
Learning & Demonstrating appropriate
behavior in all settings by following
clear expectations.
Recognition of students when
behaviors are met.
Interventions when behavior
expectations are not met.

values on the back of the cash to denote which

behavior is being recognized.
The staff member will sign his/her name legibly in

Campbell Middle School Spartan Behavior Card

Student name: _______________________________________________ Homeroom teacher: ___________________________
Semester 2.
*To mark infraction(s), the teacher dates and initials the box along with a brief description/numeric code of offense to document be
*To redeem an infraction, the teacher will note the redeeming positive behavior and initial in the appropriate weekly box below.
* Each student may redeem TWO infractions per week across all classes in order to attend Fresh Air Friday.
*Conduct grade is based on the number of infractions in a class.

Interventions When
Expectations are Not Met

Behavior cards, located in your agenda, are for

six-week periods

When students fail to follow expectations, staff

members will mark infractions with the date
and corresponding behavior description in the
agenda

Tardies and Dress Code violations will be

marked on the card as well but will not be
factored into weekly rewards/consequences.
However the fourth infraction for one of these
violations will result in a referral.

Opportunities for
Redemption & Rewards

Students will earn rewards for clear or

redeemed behavior cards each week

First week= Campbell Cash $5 Value and

Second week= Fresh Air Friday

Students may redeem two infractions per

week, but no more

One way students may redeem infractions is

by completing written and signed reflections

Teachers determine appropriate redemption

(written reflection, cleaning up area, written
apology letters, etc.)

Interventions When
Expectations are Not Met

Number of infractions (redeemed or not) are

directly tied to conduct grade.

Number of infractions (redeemed or not) lead

to administrative referrals.

Teachers will contact parents on the third

infraction to let the parent know that another
infraction will lead to administrative referral.

Interventions When
Expectations are Not Met

Teachers will contact parents for each

administrative referral resulting from infractions.

Students will receive immediate referrals for

behaviors that exceed in-class infractions such as
fighting, insubordination, etc.

If a student receives ISS or OSS, regardless of

behavior card, he or she will not receive the weekly
reward.

Interventions When
Expectations are Not Met

Teachers will check behavior cards on Friday

mornings during ELT.
Teacher will reward clear/redeemed cards at
that time.
Friday infractions will roll over to the following
week.
Missing cards will result in loss of reward
and an additional infraction in homeroom.
Teachers will keep track of infractions in their
own records in case the card is lost so
losing the card will not prevent the student
from receiving consequences.
