14 BEST PRACTICES FOR


STUDENTS

1)
Return to FCSIT UNIMAS ON TIME on each semester starts. Make
yourself available at the first day on the first week in each
semester. Always refer to Academic Calendar to plan on your
travel.
2)
Attendance for lecture must NOT LESS than 80%. Failed to do so,
the student will be BARRED from sitting the final exam. Any
absence from class MUST be covered by a medical certificate
(MC) from a doctor or permission from the lecturer.
3)
Never skip ANY lecture, tutorial or lab. The best way to get
firsthand information is by ATTENDING the class.
4)
Attend all classes ON TIME. Being punctual is essential to
success in life.
5)
Prepare BEFORE attend class. Answer tutorial questions prior to
tutorial session. Take good notes. Stay focused.
6)
Switch off your mobile phone during classes to stay focused.

7)Submit your assignment and project ON TIME. Do not


delay the submission and find excuses
8)Do not plagiarize in your work. Be sure to write in your
own words.
9)Learn to cooperate and work in a team. If you do
things together, everyone can achieve MORE.
10)
Prioritize your study. Develop a habit of doing daily
revision. Do not wait until the last minute.
11)
Time Management. Plan and manage your time wisely.
Record the way you spend your time in a day.

12)Wear neat attire when you are at the faculty. No


slipper, no short pants, and torn jeans at anytime.
13)Ask the lecturer when you are not sure. Do not be shy
and do not keep your problem to yourself. Stay
positive. Treat problems as challenges. Whenever you
are in doubt, come and see your mentor regularly.
14)Take care of your health and make yourself fresh and
healthy. Fun can only be described by those who feel
it!

All students are reminded to comply with the examination rules as
described in Student Handbook. (Please refer to Student
Handbook)
Note:
ALL STUDENTS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO BRING IN THEIR HANDPHONES
OR ANY ELECTRONIC DEVICES EXCEPT A CALCULATOR* TO THE
EXAMINATION ROOM/HALL. ANYONE FOUND TO BE IN POSSESSION
OF ANY ELECTRONIC DEVICES WILL BE APPREHENDED AND THE
GADGET SHALL BE CONFISCATED.
The University will not be responsible for the loss of any belongings,
within or outside the examination room/hall.

clear plastic bag* labelled with your name,
matric number and handphone number.
Then place the bag at a location in front of
the examination room/hall as instructed by
the Chief Invigilator.
*Students must prepare their own clear
plastic bags.
