INTRODUCTION.
In

1988, researchers from Hitachi Metals

found a new type of soft magnetic material with
properties superior to those of metallic glasses.
These

are systems with nanocrystalline

structures obtained from the controlled
crystallization of amorphous alloy grains.

It

has dimensions of between 10 and 20 nm

embedded in an amorphous matrix.
Magnetic

materials used in the transformer

cores are termed "soft", indicating the
suitability of the material having magnetize and
demagnetized in the presence or absence of an
external magnetic field

CLASSIFICATION.

FERRITES
SOFT MAGNETIC
MATERIALS
SILICON
STEELS

Ferrites (ceramic) Good high-frequency

magnetic permeability and low saturation
magnetization. The magnetic characteristics
deteriorate rapidly with increasing temperature.

Fe-Si (metal): high saturation magnetization

and low coercive field. The soft magnetic
properties at high frequencies are lost.

OTHERS MATERIALS
Among the wide variety of nanocrystalline
ferromagnetic materials there is a small group
with very particular hysteretic behavior: the
hysteresis loop is shifted along the horizontal
axis and its shape is asymmetric. Usually the
symmetry breaking cycle hysteresis is observed
in materials having an exchange anisotropy.

Magnetic nanocomposite refrigerants:

More magnetocaloric effects for the entropy
change at given a low temperature.
Magnetostrictive Materials(TERFONOL- D):
Have a lower saturation field and reduce
anisotropy.

CONCLUSIONS.

Soft magnetic materials can result in excellent

energy products.
The flexibility in manufacturing this allows provide
many possible permanent magnet applications.
These materials have the lowest energy losses of any
material.
