Presentation: 6 questions

What?

Why?

Where?

How?

Who?

When?

Verbal and Non verbal communication.


Appearance.

Voice

Body language.

Eye contact.

Nerves.

Structure.

Rehearsal.

Visual Aids.

Appearence:
Be comfortable.
Dark colors are read as businesslike.
Dressing well and professionally makes
you feel better and more confident.
Encourage the audience to listen to
what you say.

Voice:
Louder and slower that your normal rate.
Vary pitch, pace and volume.
Emphasis.

Body Language:
Standing, walking or moving about your hand gestures or
facial expressions are important.
Make sure that your voice is audible.
Dos
Look confident.
Maintain eye contact with your audience.
Smile.
Donts
Dont cross your arms.
Dont keep hands on face.
Dont Point anyone in your audience

Eye contact:
Look at the foreheads of all your audience .
Dont stare.
Break eye contact to look at the screen, they will follow
you.
Dont stare at screen.

Nerves:
Everybody gets nervous.
Reframe them as excitement or a will to succeed.
Prepare and rehears.
Breathe.

Visual aids:
Simple fonts, illustrations, graphs, colors.
Use fancy stuff, like clip art or animation.
3 to 7 bullet points per slide.
3 to 7 words per line.
Indicate the position using laser/pen/mouse pointer.

Rehearsal:

Structure:
Prepare your presentation in this order:
Beginning or introduction.
Objective.
Middle or main content.
Conclude the topic.
Summarize
Questions.
