Introduction to ISO 9001-2008


ISO stands for the International Organization for
Standardization. It is an international standard for
Quality Management System (QMS) and is
recognized worldwide.
AKUH has been certified on ISO-based Quality
Management System since 1998. Our current
certification is on ISO 9001:2008 which was
achieved in 2009. Our next recertification is due in
May/June 2012.

Joint Commission International Accreditation
Its mission is to improve the quality of health care
in the international community by providing
accreditation services
AKUH got JCI Accreditation in 2006 and was
reaccredited in 2009
Our next reaccreditation survey is due in Aug./Sep.
2012
In 2012, we will be surveyed against the 4th edition
of JCIA Standards for Hospitals.
JCIA Standards are grouped under 14 chapters with
315+ standards and 1020+ measureable elements

necessary information and follow safety
measures;
MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) provides
