Coding A Block Model With

Rock% Using Compass

The Task
In order to be used a block model must
identify how much of a block is rock as
opposed to air
MineSight Compass provides routines
for coding the block model.
This slide set assumes that you already have
a topo surface, and a block model with a
variable to contain the percentage of each
block that is rock.

Open MineSight Compass

Run the Add Topo% to Model


Routine
Pick the Menu Tab on
Compass

Set the filtering


Options for 3D Modeling
And Data Convert
Look for the routine
Add topo% to Model
Highlight and click on
The routine.

The Program Needs to Know


Where Your Topo Items Are
Click the forward area when you are
Ready to proceed

Note that to use this


Routine you must have
Already created a
Gridded surface model
Of your topography
(ie a file 13)
Identify the name of
The item in your file
13 that contains the
Gridded surface
Elevation
Identify the name of the
Item in your block
Model that contains
Your % rock

Note these items are selected from pull down menus


Of available variable names.

(Note that you are the


One who has assigned
The variable names
So your item names
May be unique to you)

The Next Screen Causes the


Program to Run

The Block Model is Coded


This screen shot
Supposes the Block
Model view is set to
Display the topo%
It is coded pink for
Air blocks and red for
100% rock
(your color choices may
Vary)
