I wonder how our brain works?

By:Marleeny Gomez

Human Brain:
Our brain controls every move we make even faster than a
computer, etc.Your brain tells your muscles when and how to move.
It also lets you feel emotions. Such as laugh, sadness, cry, etc. Your
brain even keeps working while you are asleep. It sends the signals
that make your heart-beat, your lungs draw in breath and your
eyelids blink. We have a wrinkly mass that weighs three pounds and
it is our powerful master control panel.

Human Brain:
One of the scientist said that it was the most complex thing that
they have ever yet discovered in our universe.Inside your brain are
billions of microscopic cells called neurons. Neurons send electrical
and chemical messages to your body. The human brain is over three
times as big as the brain of other mammals that are of similar body
size. The human brain is protected/safe by the skull. Which is a
protective casing made up of 22 bones that are joined together.

Facts:
-Neurons in our brains make enough of electricity to generate a low
watt light bulb.
-The brain is the center of us (humans) nervous system that can
control our thoughts,memories,movements,and decisions.
-Our neurons are joined by tiny pathways/roads.Which means when
you do something for a very long time or often.

Facts:
-When you stop doing something for a very long time then our
pathways become weaker.
-Our brain contains billions of nerve cells that can send and receive
information around the body.
-Messages can fly from our nerves in our body,to our brain at more
than 150 mph (miles per hour-241 kms).

Facts:
-The brain of an adult weighs about three pounds.Which is about
1.5 kg (kilograms-mass).It only makes up to 2% of the body's
weight, and it uses around 20% of its energy from the blood and
oxygen of the body.

Vocabulary:
-Signal: message
-Wrinkly: covered in wrinkles
-Complex: detailed, complicated
-Neurons: tiny cells in your brain
