1. COCA card contain lesson about material classification of
Specifications
living things 5
kingdom system, covering kingdom and phylum/division
as well as some classes of kingdom animalia & Plantae

2.
Cards with pictures of living beings that represent each
level taxon
3. Game Couple Card (COCA) is designed as effectively as
possible so that
students can learn in groups and learning becomes
4.
Card (COCA) has a rectangular shape that
moreCouple
attractive
contains information in
the form word and image identity from a taxon level of
classification
living creature, and contains a description from
characteristics of level
5. Couple
taxa. Card (COCA) also comes with a card game and a
way of penalty
cards.

1.5 The Importance of Development

1. For researchers, providing insights in designing

effective
learning media in according to the purpose of
2. learning
can . be an alternative learning media for
students to assist in
understanding and remembering the lesson
classification of
living creature, and to improve learning
motivation
3. can beforused as input for educators to use
students
learning
media that
interest and fun, also can be used in learning
activities
classification of living creature in the subject of
General
Biology.

1.6 Definition of Key Terms

1. Learning media is all over the tools and materials that
can be used to
distribute messages or information from a distributor
message to the message recipient.
2.
Card is a rectangular piece of paper that contains
information such as
pictures and words.
3. Couple Card (COCA) is a rectangular instructional media
containing
information in the form of word and image identity of a
taxon level of
classification of living creature, and contains a
description of the
characteristics of the level taxa .
4. Classification of living creature is the classification of
living creature
based
on
similarities
and
differences
in
the
characteristics of every living creature .

III METHOD DEVELOPMENT

3.1 Model Development

This study uses ADDIE
development model
(Analysis, Design,
Development,
Implementation,
Evaluation).

3.2 Procedure Of Development

1. Phase Analysis
1. conducting
literature
study of previous
research concerning
the development of
the card as a media
of learning
2. Analyzing
General
Biology
course
syllabus
to
determine the range
of material that will
be developed into a
media card Couple
Card (COCA)

2. Phase
Design
1) Card Design

Coverage of the material
covering
the
common
characteristics of living things
taxa levels kingdom and
phylum/division, as well as
several classes of phylum
chordates
and

he cards are shuffled and distributed one -by-one

3) Design Games/Card
to the
Usage
learners.
Each learner holds 1 COCA card.
Learners are given 5 minutes to find a partner
cards held by
other learners through the couple characteristics
listed at the
bottom of the card COCA.
earners incorrect finding a partner and did not
manage to find
a partner within 5 minutes given the opportunity
to replay ,
which previously cards are reshuffled and dealt
to the
learners. While students who managed to find a
couple cards
are allowed to sit.
or those students who still failed to find a partner
card

3. Phase Development
realize the design of a product that has been made
in the design phase
4. Phase Implementation
Phase implementation phase of the research is
done by applying
product
card media Couple Card (COCA)
5. the
Phase
Evaluation

Evaluation is done by providing validation

and catch
assessment questionnaire on the use of
media cards
Couple Card (COCA) to students who were
subjected to
testing in the development

3.3 Experiment of Product

3.3.1 Design experiment
Experiments in this study conducted
in three
phases, namely :
1. Validation Media
2. Validation Materials
3. Tests Small Group and Large Group

3.3.2 Subjects of Experiment

Subject trial consisted of 38 students from the
Department of Mathematics and Natural Science
FKIP Jambi University who has contracted General
Biology course

3.3.3 Type Of
data
1.
Qualitative data
obtained from expert
validator media design
and materials in the
form
of
suggestions/input
and
feedback of students.

2. The quantitative
data obtained from
assessment
score
given by the validator
media design experts,
subject matter experts,
and students.

3.3.4 Data Collection

The instrument used

to collect datawas a
questionnaire using a
scale linker.

3.3.5 Data Analysis Technique

1.Qualitative Data Analysis

.Qualitative Data Analysis editing to sort out
which are really data and not data.
.Create a category of data between important
and less important.
.The selected data is data that should not be
the impression of personal and important data
that describe media learning card developed.
.Then the data is described.

2. Quantitative Data Analysis

Quantitative data was analyzed by calculating the

average score of each item answer questions
using the following formula :

Description :
P = the percentage of variable
n = number of total score of all items acquired
questions
N = maximum score ( Scale highest value
number of items question Number of
respondents )
