steeping garlic regularly every morning for 7 days

Purpose of our research

the effectiveness of the provision of water infusion of garlic


on blood pressure reduction in hypertensive elderly in the district of
Padang Nanggalo. Because in these areas the degree of hypertension that
affects about 2,497 cases (two thousend four hundred ninety seven )

Nanggalo in the district of Padang. This research was


conducted in elderly
Posyandu RW 01 Sub Surau Tower
is dated February 19 to 26, 2014..

Method
This study begins with a pre-test to measure the blood pressure of each elderly hypertension in
the morning at 08.00 am every morning for 7 days. After measuring blood pressure given garlic
steeping water (200 cc) to elderly hypertensive 1 day every 8 hours after the respondent
stomach fills with food or breakfast for 7 consecutive days.
after days first in Posyandu, 2-7 days to researchers provide water steeping garlic (200cc) to
elderly hypertensive 1x per day each 8 hours after the respondent stomach fills with food or
breakfast for 7 days successively with visits house to house each senior hypertension (door to
door).
Then do posttest on day 8 visit to re-measure the blood pressure of each elderly hypertensive,
after it recorded in the observation sheet. Data Measurement of blood pressure before and
after administration of garlic steeping water will be processed and analyzed using dependent
test.

Tull of the data collecting:


This research uses quasy Experiment with one group pretest
posttest design, before being given water steeping garlic
first performed a pretest (measurement of blood pressure
before) and then after treatment (administration of steeping
garlic) then performed again posttest
(Measurement of blood pressure after) to detect changes in
blood pressure after treatment of the elderly.

The step of conducting the research

How to analyst the records:


garlic The steeping water provided to the respondent 1 day
every 8 hours after the respondent stomach fills with food or
breakfast for 7 consecutive days.

Finding

Based on the research that has been conducted by researchers showed a decrease in
blood pressure after the administration garlic infusion for 7 consecutive days, a
reduction in systolic and diastolic blood pressure by 6-10 mmHg and 6-9 mmHg diastolic
pressure

In accordance with the results obtained during the 7-day researchers that almost all
patients with systolic and diastolic blood pressure dropped by 10 mmHg and 10 mmHg
diastolic blood pressure decreased during the post-test on the eighth day.

high blood pressure medication, which dilates blood vessels and makes blood vessels

effective lowering high cholesterol in the blood. By eating garlic can prevent
atherosclerosis, which can lead to stroke and heart attack.

pressure in elderly Posyandu RW 01 is influenced by factors of age and results from the study conducted by researchers

The occurrence of high blood pressure in the elderly, also affected the intake of excessive salt, because salt is very important
for the mechanism of the onset of hypertension. The influence of salt intake to hypertension is through elevated plasma or body
fluids and blood pressure. The higher the intake of salt in the blood, it will cause the viscosity of the blood, causing increased
blood volume, so that the occurrence of hypertension.
Based on an analysis of researchers garlic can lower blood pressure
because garlic contains substances alisin and hydrogen sulfide. The agent should have the effect of high blood pressure
medication, which dilates blood vessels and makes blood vessels are not rigid, so the blood pressure will go down.
Mechanism of action of garlic in lowering blood pressure associated with vasodilation of blood vessels that lead to the closing of
the canal and the opening of the canal, causing hyperpolarization. Thus, the muscles will experience relaxation. The high
concentration of intracellular ions cause vasoconstriction which have an impact on the condition of hypertension. The active
compound in garlic is thought to inhibit the influx of ions into the cell. Thus, there will be a decrease in intracellular ion
concentration and muscle relaxation followed. This can lead to widening of the rooms in the blood vessels, so blood pressure
drops.

Conclution
From the results obtained from research on the effectiveness ofMinfusion of garlic on
blood pressure reduction in elderly patients with hypertension in the elderly Posyandu
RW 01 Sub Surau Tower District of Padang 2014 Nanggalo can be deduced that there
are significant differences in systolic and diastolic blood pressure after given before
the infusion of garlic in elderly hypertension where blood pressure of elderly
hypertensive experiencing significant difference in systolic blood pressure by 10
mmHg
and diastolic blood pressure of 10 mmHg from earlier in Posyandu RW 01 Sub
Surau
Tower District of Padang Nanggalo 2014.

Suggestion
It is expected that the cadres and the elderly with hypertension in posyandu order to
apply the making of steeping garlic for hypertension to consume every morning for 7
days in a row.
