of knowledge and forms relationships
between people.
Undoubtedly, the sharing knowledge
and information process cannot
function without communication.

Relevance of
Communication
Moreover, communication is the foundation
of all human relationship.
Communicating helps people to express
their ideas and feelings, and it, at the same
time, helps us to understand emotion
andthoughts of the others.
It not only helps to facilitate the process of
sharing information and knowledge, but
also helps people to develop relationships
with others.

organization. In an era where everything is
going Global , it is very important for all the
business houses to communicate very well
with its internal and external environment.

shareholders, stockholders, employees etc.

about company policies clearly to reduce
ambiguity.

Organizations are totally reliant

oncommunication.
Without communication, organizations would
not function.
If communication is diminished or hampered,
the entire organization suffers.
When communication is thorough, accurate, and
timely, the organization tends to be vibrant and
effective.
Communication is central to the entire
management process for these primary reasons:

Communication is a linking process of

management.
Communication is the way managers conduct
the managerial functions of planning, organizing,
staffing, directing, and controlling.
Communication is the heart of all organizations.
Communication is the primary means by
which people obtain and exchange
information.
Decisions are often dependent upon the quality
and quantity of the information received. If the
information on which a decision is based is poor
or incomplete, the decision will often be incorrect.

Information and communication represent

power in organizations.
An employee cannot do anything constructive in
a work unit unless he or she knows what is to be
done, when the task is to be accomplished, and
who else is involved. The staff members who have
this information become centers of power.
Communication enhances coordination and cooperation.

ADVANTAGES OF
COMMUNICATION
One of the advantages of communication is
that it has the ability to enhance a person's
personal and business relationships.
Face-to-face communication offers the
added advantage of being able to receive
immediate feedback from the exchange.
Written communication has the advantage
of being a convenient way to reach many
people at one time.

ADVANTAGES OF
COMMUNICATION
On the other hand, the two-way
communication model is often more
efficient than one-way communication
because it allows both the sender and
receiver to interact instantly.
Verbal communication is the most
efficient way of personal interaction
whereby emotions are expressed and
understood well.
