In just the first scene of the Movie, there are
clues about the features of planet Mars, the
goals of their mission, and the engineering
constraints of a manned mission to Mars.
Write a paragraph comparing your knowledge
and the events depicted in the movie for each
of the following topics:
The features of planet Mars
Nasas objectives for Mars exploration
The engineering challenges that would need to be
solved in order to send a manned mission to Mars

I know that one of Nasas objectives in
their follow the water strategy is to study
the geology of planet Mars. In the Movie,
the crew were collecting rock samples
which they could analyze to determine if
the rocks had ever been in the presence
of water.
