of Neoplasms

PERSONAL LIFE
Marie Slodowska was born at Warsaw ,kingdom of
Poland ,thenpart of Russian Empire, in 7 November
1867
Fifth and youngest child of her parents
She studied at Warsaws Clandestine Floating
University
In 1891 she went to france and conducted higher
studies in University of Paris
In 1893 she was awarded a degree in physics and earn
a second degree in 1894

On 26 July 1895 Marie married Pierre Curie ,who was
an instructor at school of physics and chemistry
They had two children, Irne Joliot-Curie (18971956)
and ve Curie (19042007)
Marie Curie and her husband Pierre Curie shared the
1903 Noble Prize for Physics

DEATH

Curie died in 1934 ,aged 66 at a sanitorium in


Sancellemz ,France
Died due to aplastic anaemia brought on by explosure
to radiation
