CHARACTER PROFILE 1 JAY (PROTAGONIST)

Ethnicity The ethnicity of my character is Black. The reason I chose this ethnicity is
because black people are stereotypically represented as criminals and thieves in most
thriller films.

Age The age of my character is going to be 18 years old. This is the age which is
stereotypically represented to be involved in gang violence and dealing with drugs.

Representation The representation of my character is going to show that he is a young,

nervous character. I will not show him as being dominant and brave as this will ruin the
purpose of my film.

Influences of my character I have taken influence from the character Malcolm who was
in the film Dope (2015). He is a weak character who was more vulnerable to danger than
the other protagonist in the film. I will be using this as an influence to my film to create a
countertype male protagonist.

The actress I have chosen to portray Jay is Jordan Burnett (17). He is 57 and he is black.
