FRJ Inc. would like to submit a bridge design proposal for

the new El Chiche River Bridge, which is part of the new
Ruta Viva Highway. We are here to convince the
municipality that our design is the best and should be used
for the new highway. This bridge has not only been designed
to be functional, but to have an accessible price as well using
good materials. We have done a sort of experiments to figure
out how the design should be made. Our goal is to at the end
of this presentation had convinced all members of the
municipality to use our design and hire us to make this
possible.

Introduction

We conducted several experiments. In Experiment 1.1 we

tested Bridge Thickness. We needed to place a piece of paper
11 inches long by 4.5 inches wide on two boxes. The paper
bridges had to be 1 inch/2.54cm into the boxes so the weight
would be distributed on the bridge not on the box. We tested
how many pennies each layer could hold and each time one
broke we added another one. We ended up with 5 layers.
In Experiment 1.2 we tested Bridge Length. We used paper
bridges of 10, 15, 20, 22.5, and 29.5 centimeters long which
were placed 1 inch/2.54cm into boxes so we could test what
length could hold more pennies. We placed a small cup on
top of each layer alone to see its resistance.

Conclusion: Looking at the data of experiment we can see that the data doesnt
have a constant rate of change, but it has a linear trend line therefore it is a linear
relationship. Therefore we can make a slope and equation for this set of data.

Conclusion: Looking at the data of experiment 1.2 we can see that this is not a
linear relationship because it doesnt have a constant rate of change nor a linear
trend line. This set of data is exponential and cant have an neither accurate
slope nor equation

Experiment 1.2

From all the data we gathered from the experiments you just
saw we came up with a conclusion that will blow you minds
away. A 4 layer Beam Bridge, 1m each rod, with 4 pillars at
each side to maintain the weight, each pillar will be at 78.6
meters from each other. We made this decision because as you
could see from Experiment 1.1 the more layers a bridge has
the more weight it supports, in this case the maximum number
of layers is 4 then the least distance between pillars the more
weight it supports. We chose 4 pillars at each side with a total
of 8 because if we would use 5 on each side or more we could
just make one huge wall with a road on top.

The total cost for our project your be..

$ 62,705.05
This is a perfect price since it fits within the Ministrys budget and the
bridge will be of high quality!
