Professional Ethics
Are used only to denote the set
of ethical principles perceived
only by the professionals
themselves to be appropriate for
their professional behaviour

Code of Ethics
Is a formal statement of a groups
ideals and values
It is a set of ethical principles that
share by members of the group
reflects their moral judgments
over time
serves as a standard for their
professional actions

1. A code of Ethics makes the decisionmaking process more efficient
2. Individual professionals may
occasionally need guidelines for
directing their professional behavior

pattern of behavior which clients
come to expect of members of the

Pharmacist are health professionals who


help individuals protect themselves
against disease, maintain good heath
and make the best use of their
medication.
The pharmacists promote rational use of
drugs and ensure the provision of safe,
effective and quality drugs for improved
patient care and quality of life

This CODE, prepared and supported by


pharmacists, is intended to state
publicly the principles that form the
fundamental basis of their roles and
responsibilities which are based on
moral obligations and virtues and to
guide pharmacists in their
relationship with patient, health
professionals and society.

7. A pharmacist is committed to
continuously enhance professional

8. A pharmacist, in coordination with
the government and other health
professionals, helps in the formulation

Pharmacists Oath
I, ____________ of _____________ hereby solemnly swear that I
will support and defend the Constitution of the
Philippines; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to
the same; that I will obey the laws, legal orders, and
degrees promulgated by the duly constituted authorities
of the Republic of the Philippines; and that I impose this
obligation upon myself voluntarily without mental
reservation or purpose of evasion. SO HELP GOD.
I further solemnly swear that all times and places, I will
adhere closely to the ethical and professional rules
generally accepted by the pharmaceutical profession of
the Philippines and that I will faithfully discharge to the
best of my ability the duties and obligations incumbent
upon a legally authorized pharmaceutical practitioner.

To refer the patient to another pharmacist

their records, if held, have been transferred
