segment, therefore:
During the switch over the segment is for
a (short) time unpowered
This can cause telegram losses

To avoid the loss of field devices or


the whole segment a quick switch
over is essential!
To ensure a quick switch over the
redundant power supply must be in a
hot stand by mode
