There are over 400 gondolas there
By the 18th century there were over 200 churches in

Over 15 million visitors go there every year
Venice has over 450 palaces built in different styles

My visit to Venice
When I went to Venice I saw all of the pictures I

showed you but I saw them in real life!!


Venice is a very old city
People speak Italian in Venice and eat lots of pasta
and pizza
There are no cars in Venice. Everyone travels in water
taxis
My favourite part of Venice was the Rialto bridge

main square in Venice
It has a famous cathedral
there and you can see
this in the picture
It also has a Bell Tower.
You can go to the top of
the tower and have a
spectacular view of the
whole city

Rialto Bridge is the


oldest and most famous
of the 4 bridges that
were built across the
Grand Canal in Venice.
It is built of marble.
It took 3 years to build
the bridge and was
finished in 1591.
They didnt think the
bridge would last.
This area is full of shops
and very full of tourists.
