How to select/reset a password:
Bad practice
Using your birthdate, dogs name, favourite
actor, footy club, favourite car, etc

Recommended
Mix of a few words, with CAPITAL and lower
case letters + number + special characters

As a new computer we need to
change the user account controls
for your computer, please press the
windows key and type uac (1), and
click (2) on Change user account
control settings..

email/outlook : 1/4
Click on the windows key, and type
on the keyboard outlook, you will
see the following window, and press
(1) Type

to Office 365 in stages by year
levels, and training will be provided
for by Mr Stuart Deane.

Printer Setup:
Start File explorer, then under
favourites you will see tgsprinters
click on this, then find your local
printer and double click to add it to
your computer

Printing: Follow me printing


Install the TrinityStafGlobal printer onto your
computer:
Send a print job to the printer
Go to a multifunction copier/printer (unfortunately
this does not work on stand alone printers, yet.)
Place your ID card to the keypad and wait for a
tone
Using the number pad, you will see prompts
select the 1 for printing option
The filename will appear, then press Enter/Yes
Press 1 to print, or 2 to delete

Setting default programs:

Your new computer has default files
associated with Microsofts applications,
ie: viewing photos, pdf, etc. If it
documents do not open properly you
will need to:
Right click on the document
Select open with
Select Select default programs
Select the default program you want to
open those document with

NETWORK STORAGE
At trinity you have a personal
storage drive called U drive. To
access it:
(1) Click on
FILE EXPLORER

ONLINE STORAGE
In 2015, students will be migrated to
Office365, and will also have 1TB/unlimited
cloud storage via OneDrive
Training on the setup and configurations will
be carried out in class at a later date by Mr

Firewall security & Email filtration
Logging software
Network segregation and
physical/password protection

information safe, you are still
vulnerable to viruses/malware
via:
Internet browsers and web pages
Email attachments
Document macros
Plugging in un-verified hardwares
(usb sticks?)
Installing un-verified softwares

What to do if you suspect you
have a virus or
someone/something is
controlling or accessing your
computer:
Close the screen (putting the laptop
to sleep) and bring the laptop
immediately to the tech centre, OR
Press and hold the power button
down to forcibly power down the
laptop and then, bring the laptop to
the tech centre

Tudor Centre AV
The Tudor centre has meeting
rooms, group share screens and
presentation rooms:
The library loans desk has cable
kits for use with the various rooms
(HDMI, VGA and USB cables)
The FORUM meeting room also
has a wireless video capable
device, please follow the
instructions on the wall, or contact
the Tech centre to trial the system
