Analysis

The lawyer is trying to defend her

client by implying if he had prayer in
school, he would not be in the
situation he is now
In the cartoon it looks like the judge
does not believe the lawyers
nonsense since someones morals
should not determine whether they
cant distinguish right from wrong

Engel v. Vitale
Parents in New York challenged a prayer
written by education board
In 1962 the Supreme Court ruled that
official prayer had no place in public
education
Violated the Establishment Clause of the
First Amendment to the United States
Constitution

Abington Township School

District v. Schempp:

Father filed suit to prohibit from

hearing and sometimes reading
portions of the Bible as part of their
public school education
The court declared school-sponsored
Bible reading and recitation of the
Lord's Prayer unconstitutional

Morals v. Values
Moral is a system of beliefs (ex:
religion) that is taught for deciding
good or bad
Values are personal beliefs or
something that comes from within

Conclusion

As future educators we do have

influence on students morals and help
them out to make good choices
With their values they have the
choice if they do good or bad things
though
