Objective
The goal of this seminar is to
help the students make some
progress in developing proper
attitudes, techniques and
Christian character in relation to
his or her study habits and be
able to make the most of
campus life.
I. Introduction
Studies have shown that
majority of failures in
class are due to poor
study habits and
examination techniques,
not to lack of intelligence.
Purpose of Education

Not to fill the student’s


mind with facts but with
truth.
Not to make the student
better than other people.
Purpose of Education
To make the students
mind more efficient
by developing good
habits towards
intellectual tasks.
II. Making Better Grades

A. The Learning Process

1. Attitude

Keyword: Choice
To have good attitude

Success attitude must be


cultivated.
Make decisions
based on principles,not
emotions or feelings.
To have good attitude
Aim for excellence.
Regard yourself as created
special and unique by God.
Think of good things about
your studies daily.
2. Concentrate
Keyword: Purpose

To develop concentration

Work under pressure.


Avoid distraction.
Set goals.
Purpose should
govern your life.
3. Understand

To understand more
Get the overview or the
outline of the lesson.
Repeat in your mind the
material presented.
Ask questions to clarify.

Discuss the lesson with


someone.
Evaluate the information
you are getting.

Summarize the material


using keywords or
phrases.
4. Remember

To help you remember more

Focus on what is important.


Understand what you
memorize.
Repeat until it sticks.
Say it aloud.
Write it down.
Index cards will help.
