    Legacy Protocols Over ATM

    Standards have been developed to map legacy protocols over an ATM


    network:
    Classical IP over ATM or CLIP (IETF),
    LAN Emulation or LANE (ATM Forum),
    Multi-Protocol over ATM or MPOA (ATM Forum).

    All other systems are configured with the ATM address

    which stores both the IP address and the ATM address
