“Wherefore God also hath

highly exalted him, and given
him a name which is above
every name: That at the
name of JESUS every knee
should bow, of things of
heaven, and things of earth
and things under the earth;
And that every tongue
should confess that JESUS
CHRIST is LORD, to the glory
of God the Father.”

 Are You Consumed?
• There are many good things
that we do in the church:
– Showing Kindness to others
– Helping the needy
– Serving inside the church
– Seeking new people to come
to church
• But is this done because
you love Jesus?
• Truth is you should be
consumed with lifting up his
name in your life.
 Are You Consumed?

• The reason there is a church is to bring glory and

honor to Jesus Christ “The Gospel!”
• It’s all good that we are going to heaven but if that is
all the gospel is about to us then we miss the point.
• The gospel is about glorifying Jesus .
 Are You Consumed?
• Are you making Jesus the
center of your life or just a
part of it?
• Meaning do you throw a
tantrum when God does not
do what you want Him to
do.
• But we are made in God’s
image for God’s purpose.
• We should ask not what
God can do for us but what
can we do for God.
 Who is Jesus Christ?
• Jesus was a good man.
• Jesus was a wise man.
• Jesus is GOD!!!
(John 1:14)
• But many stop there and do
not see Him as God.
• If Jesus is not God then he is
either a liar (not a good
man) or he is crazy (not a
wise man) and we should
not be following Him.
 Who is Jesus Christ?
• There are many reasons people do not want
to believe Jesus is God (all of them being
selfish reasons).
• But if Jesus is God then he has a claim on your
life to be your role model, your king and your
God.
• “Whoever claims to live in him must walk as
Jesus did.” (1 John 2:6, NIV)
What is it to Walk Like Christ?
• We live in a free country
and no one is forcing us to
believe anything.
• For Satan is always trying to
get us to deny Christ.
• In other parts of the world
and the first Christians he
uses persecution. But here
in America his attacks are
more devious.
 What is it to Walk Like Christ?

• To walk like Christ is to live like the first believers in

the book of Acts in which no one was in need and
everyone gave.
• But we can only live like this if we have the “grace”
the Holy Spirit can give us.
 Exalt Christ!!!
• “And he died for all, that those who live should
no longer live for themselves but for him who
died for them and was raised again. So from now
on we regard no one from a worldly point of
view. Though we once regarded Christ in this
way, we do so no longer. Therefore, if anyone is
in Christ, he is a new creation; the old is gone,
then new has come!”
(2 Corinthians 5:15-17, NIV)
