Cathode Ray Tube (CRT)

There are so many computer graphics display

devices
Examples are
EGA-Enhanced graphics adaptor
CGA-Color graphics adaptor
VGA-Video graphics array
SVGA-super video graphics array
Commonly use display device is CRT monitor

Cathode Ray Tube (CRT)

Heating filament
It is responsible for heating cathode element to generate
electrons (negatively charged)
Then the beam of electrons is Guided by 3 cylindrical
devices
Control grid
Focusing Anode
Accelerating Anode

Cathode Ray Tube (CRT)

Control grid (negatively charged)
We observe pictures consists some parts bright
and some are dull this depends on intensity.
Control grid is responsible to control intensity
coming out from cathode
Focusing Anode (positively charged)
To focus beam on particular point
Accelerating Anode (positively charged)
To speed up beam focus

Cathode Ray Tube (CRT)

By previous discussion of using CG, FA,
and A.A
The electron beam hits at center of screen
But we need to have beam on entire
screen
So deflection is needed

Deflection-I (magnetic)
Deflection can be obtained through
magnetic deflection coils along with
electron gun

Deflection-II (Electrostatic)
Deflection is now in 2 directions Horizontal and
vertical
This can be possible by Horizontal deflection plates
and Vertical deflection plates respectively with
electron gun.
