BACKGROUND
Proposal of def expo in KSA was under consideration by
MoDP/DEPO when President PSJCC&I apch DEPO on 11 Sep 2014
and proposed to org def expo in KSA
DEPO info MoDP on 26 Sep 2014 that def expo was a good
opportunity and one cty def expo be arng under MoDP/DEPO
MoDP ask DEPO to hold a meeting with PSJCCI and submit report
President PSJCCI met DG DEPO on 28 Oct 2014 to discuss his
proposal. MoDP was accordingly info on 7 Nov 14
Later MO Dte also asked comments on the subj from DEPO on 30
Mar 2015

BACKGROUND
MO Dte was info on 13 Apr 15 that subj proposal was already under
consideration in the MoDP / DEPO
Meeting with CGS held on 24 Aug 2014. It was decided that
President PSJCCI will be asked to present his proposal to DEPO and
DEPO will present the way fwd to CGS on 9 Sep
President PSJCCI has not contacted DEPO yet, thus meeting with
CGS postponed

PROPOSAL OF PSJCC&I
Saudi Arabia is a huge market with enormous potentials of
absorbing Pakistani products
Saudi tilt towards Pakistan Defence Forces should be exploited
Pakistans Pte Sec is keen to showcase products in KSA, 60-70
Pte Sec industry can be roped in to participate in Expo
Ltd scale of sup of products to KSA by pte sec will get boost and
will encourage vendor industry in Pakistan
Display Cen is under construction at Jeddah and Pakistan can
plan to display its products there for prom in GCC

PROPOSAL OF PSJCC&I
MoC can be taken on bd to sp this proposal by providing
subsidy to exhibitors out of Export Development Fund
There is potential to hold other exhibitions in the region, if this
becomes a success. Oman and Nigeria also have a lot of
potential

Holding of a Pakistan Expo at Riyadh is a doable proposition with
positive prospects for Pak def exports
Expo should be a bal display of Pub/Pte Sec products
Case for org expo be initiated by MoDP and DEPO be made resp for
planning and exec. PSJCC&I should work closely with DEPO
Comprehensive report will be fwd after meeting with Saudi ctr parts
and visiting the venue
Seminar / wksp may also be org on the sidelines of Expo to explore
areas of interests/coop
Own DPEs may also be apch for willingness to participate in Expo
MoDP to eval the proposal and take a decision by end10 Nov 2014

Role of Stake Holders
DEPO

DEPO being a tri svcs org has experience of org IDEAS since
2000 and is most suitable for org def expo in KSA
Inauguration of DEPO Display Centre on 6 Oct 2015 and
Seminar on Pub Pte Partnership in Def Production and ExportChallenges and Way Fwd in Dec 2015 will facilitate DEPO to
strengthen relationship with pub/ pte sec, esp the sponsorship
All stakeholders will be taken on bd incl relevant orgs both in
pub and pte sec related to def industry during a/m events
Alongside pub/pte sec the potential of PSJCCI will be optimized
while planning the def expo

PSJCCI is a business forum and is not considered suitable to

conduct the def expo in KSA

Likely sp role of PSJCCI will encompass:

o Contacts with Royal Family, which has significant hold in all

Any other aspect in tandem with DEPOs efforts

Before considering PSJCCI for any role its credentials may be

verified

links for obtaining sponsors and asst from Saudi Govt
