VOCABULARY (ACTION
VERBS) USING MY BANK
BACKGROUND
Shawna (2000) claimed that vocabulary is the
writers most important tool because the huge
coverage and depth of a students vocabulary will
have a direct influence upon the descriptiveness,
accuracy, and quality of his or her writing.
Untari Tri Handayani (2012) in her research
mentioned that vocabulary is central to language
and article importance to typical language learner.
FOCUS OF STUDY
Difficulties in understanding action verbs
messages could not conveyed.
Factors :
Less exposure to English language.
Family background.
Mother tongue influence.
INTERVENTION
My Bank book.
First intervention
1) Introduce song.
2) Highlight the action verbs in the song.
3) Show the action and pictures.
4) Correspondents draw and colour the picture
in their My Bank book.
5) Distribute worksheet Match the pictures
with the words correctly.

concerning the use of My Bank book?

* The meaning from dictionary too long.
RECOMMENDATION
For future improvement:
Researcher can add synonyms.
Use more interactive activities.
Do research with other age group but with
similar problem.
Use simple meaning to explain the action
verbs.
CONCLUSION
Based on the research that had been
conducted, the findings have proven that the
use of My Bank book was able to develop
the correspondents action verbs.
Usage of colourful pictures, actions,
translation and sample sentences were
helpful for the correspondents to understand
the action verbs easily and effectively.
