Title Sequence
A title sequence (also called an opening sequence or intro) is the method by which films or television
programs present their title, key production and cast members, utilizing conceptual visuals and sound.

Suspense
1.a state or feeling of excited or anxious uncertainty about what may happen.
2. a quality in a work of fiction that arouses excited expectation or uncertainty about what may happen.

Tension
An emotional strain evoked from the audience as a result of suspense.

Blood and Violence


violence involving bloodshed.
the red liquid that circulates in the arteries and veins of humans and other vertebrate animals, carrying
oxygen to and carbon dioxide from the tissues of the body.
behaviour involving physical force intended to hurt, damage, or kill someone or something.
strength of emotion or of a destructive natural force.

Eerie Non-Diegetic Sound


strange and frightening.
Non-diegetic sound is sound whose origin is from outside the story world.

Location
a particular place or position.

Genre
Thrillers are characterized and defined by the moods they elicit, giving viewers heightened feelings of
suspense, excitement, surprise, anticipation and anxiety.

Character Presence
the mental and moral qualities distinctive to an individual.
a person in a novel, play, or film.
the state or fact of existing, occurring, or being present.
a person or thing that exists or is present in a place but is not seen.

Murder or Crime
the unlawful premeditated killing of one human being by another.
kill (someone) unlawfully and with premeditation.
an action or omission which constitutes an offence and is punishable by law.

Protagonist
he leading character or one of the major characters in a play, film, novel, etc.
an advocate or champion of a particular cause or idea.

Antagonist
a person who actively opposes or is hostile to someone or something; an adversary.

Low-key Lighting
Low key light accentuates the contours of an object by throwing areas into shade while a fill light or reflector
may illuminate the shadow areas to control contrast.
