ASSERTIVE DISCIPLINE
Kids no longer respected teachers.
A large amount of learning time is interrupted by disruptive
students.
Their theory is based off the fact that most teachers have not
been trained to deal with disruptive students.

CHARACTERISTICS EVERY
TEACHER NEEDS
a strong teacher voice
high expectations for student behavior
an effective classroom discipline plan
policies and procedures taught at the beginning of the year
the ability to motivate all students to quickly follow directions
and to get and stay on task
the ability to build trusting relationships with their students
the ability to gain support from parents and administrators

Anybody can become

an effective teacher if
they follow those steps,
are motivated and are
willing to try new things.
