Education Technology
Education Technology is the study and ethical practice of facilitating learning and
improving performance by creating, using and managing appropriate technological
processes and resources.

Any tool that can be used to help promote
human learning, including but not limited to
calculators, tablets, Smart Boards, video
cameras, digital cameras, MP3 players,
Portable Digital Assistants (PDAs), and, of
course, the computer.

Use vs Dont Use

Throughout the years, the use of technology in the classroom has been debated
People have different opinions and views on the matter
Technology has become incredibly popular
Technology is everywhere
Many people believe that technology will only benefit classes
Some people believe technology will harm students

Classroom

Students and teachers use a range of digital tools inside and

outside the classroom, including projectors connected to
computers (97% of teachers report using these); dedicated
student workstations (96%); cellphones or smartphones (73%);
computer carts (71%); digital cameras (67%).(

Academic Improvements using

Technology

More than 75% of parents said technology had a somewhat

positive or very positive impact on their childs education. Only
3% said it was very negative or somewhat negative. And more
than 90% of parents said it was at least somewhat helpful in
helping them with their childrens homework.
