Music Video
Directors & Code of
Practice
Chris Haisell

Location Permission
When filming, in certain places you have to ask
for location permission. If a part of land or
property is privately owned, its likely that the
owner expects to be asked for location permission
if somebody wants to film there. For an example,
if filming in a newsagent, you should ask the
shopkeeper whether its acceptable or not.
However if your filming on the streets, its publicly
owned so location permission is so much an issue.
Its against the law to film in privately owned
locations without location permission as its seen
as trespassing and a violation of privacy

For an example. Krept and Konan

recently filmed a music video in
somebodys home so therefore had
to ask and pay for location
permission.

Its important as its a right and musicians

work.
